FAQs

Is there medical coverage for The Jacki?
Jacki® is covered by Medicare and reimbursable through insurance under HCPCS program code L8015. The codes are used to facilitate the processing of health insurance claims by Medicare and other insurers.
How is The Jacki better than the traditional hospital gown?
Traditional Johnny gowns are uncomfortable and revealing. As a Cancer patient, Cathy McGrath designed an alternative to traditional hospital gowns, also known as johnny gowns, to have independence, a better quality of life, best manage post-surgical drains, while also helping her children cope with her own mastectomy. No one wants to feel like a patient, you want to feel and look normal every day while overcoming daily struggles associated with surgery recovery.
How can The Jacki help during post-operative recovery period?
When a patient is discharged from the hospital, post-surgery care at home, with or without drains, can be an intimidating task for both the patient and family caregivers. With the help of The Jacki, the patient can step in and self-dress independently, or, if needed, caregivers can dress or undress the person who is recovering from an arm or shoulder surgery, for example. Recovery Wear clothing also helps the caregiver clean the incisions and wounds without having to undress the patient every time.
What's the difference between the Women's Jacki and the Unisex Jacki?
Both Jackis have the same easy closure functionalities and interior pocketing. The only difference is that the Women’s Jacki has removable pockets in the chest for breast prosthesis and also includes inserts that are removable.
Can The Jacki be used for other post-operative phases?
Both types of the Jacki are designed to support patients after undergoing any type of mastectomy, chest surgery, thoracic or cardiac surgery, stroke, rotator cuff and other shoulder surgeries, or an upper body injury. It is also a great garment to bring extra comfort during all phases of cancer treatment: surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, doctor’s visits or physical therapy.
