Nice Jacket - bought the light blue

Bought for an older senior (85+) with some disabilities, including with her hands, but is still able to dress herself. She prefers 3/4 length sleeves as they don't get caught in her wheelchair and it covers her dialysis tubing area. She is not able to do buttons, snaps and zippers are difficult so trying to find clothing is hard. She also has a pacemaker so anything with magnetic closures are not possible for her to wear. Another area that most clothes do not address is for the larger waist and hips of the plus sized woman.

This blazer seems to be made from a nice fabric, light weight but not too light. She has other blazers that are low maintenance, but the fabric is extremely heavy and hard for her to put on.
Though wrinkles were set in, after washing and ironing the more persistant wrinkles out, I think it will be low maintenance for her. Time will tell.

The waist and hip area seem to be large enough, though being an open blazer it is hard to say if that would be an issue had it been a buttoned up type blazer.

Another thing I liked is the larger sleeve circumference. A lot of clothes make the upper sleeve area really small and she needs the extra room. Also, her one hand is curled up so getting it through a tight sleeve is extremely hard for her. The larger sleeve also helps with movement when she is using her wheelchair.

The embrodery gives it an extra touch which many seniors clothing doesn't have.

I chose to order the 3xl so that there would be room under for her various shirts and it seems like it fits okay. Also, if the 3XL was too large, I could take it in for her. This seems to be about the same sizing as Pennington's (canada). I have ordered shirts and coats from other online stores that were suppose to be 2XL and they were more like large and the fabrics were terrible.

I like many of the other shirts and pants on the Silverts site, but they are mostly for people who require assistance dressing. Will keep Silverts in mind for future purchases. May even buy the assisted dressing shirts, sewing up the seams and then taking the seams out if there comes a point where the assisted dressing is required.
