FAQ

How to put on an Open Back Top?

  1. Unsnap both the closures at the shoulder seams of the top.
  2. From the front, slide the sleeves up the arms of the wearer until the opening reaches their back (no lifting required).
  3. Once the top is in place, pull the first panel across the back and snap it in place at the shoulder.
  4. Now take the second panel, pull across, creating an overlap, and snap again.

Why use Silverts Open Back Tops?

  • Caregiver Safety: Caregivers do not have to lift or shift the wearer, avoiding risk of injury and burnout.
  • Great for Limited Upper Body Mobility: Wearers can be dressed without lifting their arms or contorting their upper body as with traditional over-the-head tops. This is helpful for individuals with limited upper body mobility.
  • Ideal for Seated or Supine Dressing: The open back means the top can be put on from the front and snapped at the shoulders with minimal jostling. The wearer can be dressed from a seated, standing or lying position. The panels at the back can be snapped into place easily, providing full coverage and discretion from behind.

Traditional look

This shirt is made with more cotton than polyester and that's what I am looking for and what health care staff advise to keep patients more comfortable. The label I remove as staff put their own on the clothing itself and as someone who gets skin irritation from this type of label I don't want it to be an issue for my husband who cannot verbalise discomfort. Please Silvert's think about that when designing and manufacturing clothing. Make sure seams are smooth and covered around the neck too. Perhaps the product information being stamped inside the clothing would be possible and more cost effective. The look of this garment on my husband is something I do like.

Patten truly way too bold,

Patten truly way too bold, wanted the shirt like the fabric could not tolerate the pattern in black and white

I bought 2 of these

I bought 2 of these shirts and in the first week a button (one down from the collar) came off by ripping right through the fabric leaving an actual hole! Both shirts! The fabric is very thin. The shirts they are replacing (not open-back shirts) are several years old and no buttons have ever come off, much less ripped through the fabric.
