Finding Your Size

Measuring for clothing can be tricky enough already, and measuring for adaptive clothing adds an extra layer of complexity. Adaptive clothing sizes don’t always map onto non-adaptive clothing sizes, and they are often sized up to make it easier for people with mobility impairments to get dressed and undressed. To make things easier, we’ve put together this complete guide to Silverts adaptive clothing sizes and measuring for adaptive clothing.

When in doubt, always remember that our customer service department is happy to help you choose the right size of clothing and shoes so that you’re completely happy with your purchase. They can be reached by phone at 1-800-387-7088 or by email at customercare@silverts.com, Monday to Friday between 9am - 7pm ET (6am - 4pm PT).

Tips for Measuring for Adaptive Clothing

For taking all clothing measurements, we recommend using a soft tape measure, as this is the easiest to wrap around your body. If you do not have a sewing tape measure, you can take a piece of string, wrap it around your body and then lay it out against a ruler or measuring tape. We also recommend keeping a sticky note and pencil handy so you can jot down measurements as you go. Make sure that you not only make a note of the measurement itself, but also what body part it corresponds to.
