Adaptive Clothing Size Chart for Men

Here are the measurements that we use at Silverts in order to size our adaptive clothing for men. Keep in mind that we don't use inseam measurements for either women's or men's pants, as our pants all have a standard length measurement.

How to Measure for Adaptive Men's Shirts

  1. Take your tape measure and wrap it around the base of your neck where the collar would sit. Make sure that it isn't too tight. You should be able to breathe comfortably and one or two fingers should fit under the tape measure. Make a note of this measurement to the nearest half inch.
  2. Wrap your tape measure around the broadest part of your back and chest. For most men, this is right underneath the armpits. Keep the tape measure parallel to the ground as you do so. If it rides up or falls down, this will result in an incorrect measurement. Take a few breaths to make sure that the tape is not too tight. Make a note of this measurement to the nearest inch.
  3. Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, right around your belly button. Stand up straight and don’t slouch or suck in your stomach. You want a natural measurement, not an exaggerated one. Make a note of this measurement to the nearest inch.
  4. Use all three measurements to determine your men's adaptive shirt size. If your measurements are spread across multiple sizes, then go with the larger size. Do keep in mind that most adaptive clothing, in particular open back, is sized for a generous fit. If you have questions about what size you should get in a particular garment, then feel free to contact our customer support team and they can assist you.

How to Measure for Adaptive Men's Pants

  1. There are several different ways you can measure your men's adaptive pant size. If you have a pair of well-fitting pants in sizes 28 to 46, you can compare them to our size chart to find the equivalent size in small to 3XL.
  2. If your pants fit well, but aren't sized according to the typical men's numerical system, then you can lay them flat and measure them instead. Lay a tape measure across the flat waistband and multiply by 2 to get your waist measurement. Compare that to our size chart to find your size.
  3. If you don't have any pants that fit well, then wrap the tape measure around the narrowest part of your waist, right around your belly button. Stand up straight and don't slouch or suck in your stomach. You want a natural measurement, not an exaggerated one. Make a note of this measurement to the nearest inch and use that to determine your adaptive men's pant size.
