- Silvert's Adaptive Clothing and Footwear is available in Canadian or US dollars. At the moment, we are displaying all prices in US dollars.
- How do I switch currencies?
- You can change your display currency at any time by clicking on the appropriate flag beside some prices, or at the top of any page. Alternatively, you can click on the flags here:
Review your Shopping Cart and Checkout
Your shopping cart can be found in the top right corner of every page. Click on "Cart" to view the products in your order, and to make any changes. When you are ready, click on "Checkout Now" to complete your purchase and have your order sent to you.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 was released in 2001 for Windows 98, ME, and 2000; it is also included with Windows XP. Despite its age, IE6 continues to be supported by our website, thanks in large part to its continuing popularity. Windows 9x/ME and 2000 users can download this browser from Microsoft.
While Silvert's will continue to provide support for Internet Explorer 6, we recommend that Windows XP users update to the most recent version of Internet Explorer, Internet Explorer 8. This is due to disappearing IE6 support on many websites as its popularity wanes.
To alleviate this problem, we recommend that users of Windows 2000 switch to Opera or Firefox. Windows 98 and ME users can switch to Opera as well. Both programs continue to receive regular updates to handle security and page rendering issues, and are supported by Silvert's.
Windows Internet Explorer 7 was released in 2006 for Windows XP, and is included with Windows Vista. IE7 replaces version 6 and offers improved support for modern web coding standards, though it unfortunately dropped support for Internet Explorer 6 rendering (but continues to maintain version 5 rendering). It has been recently replaced by Internet Explorer 8, and we strongly recommend that all IE7 users download and install that update.
In 2009, Microsoft released Windows Internet Explorer 8 as their successor to IE7, available for Windows XP and Vista, and to be included in Windows 7 upon its release. IE8 offers more improvements to accomodate modern web coding standards, enhancements to its tabbed-browsing interface, and enhanced stability by preventing the entire program by crashing and instead simply reloading pages where these crashes occur. You can upgrade to Internet Explorer 8 by downloading the update from Microsoft.
Mozilla Firefox is currently available at version 9. Our website is also tested on version 2.0 during development, allowing us to spot any regressions that would affect the older version, however users are recommended to upgrade to the most recent version to take full advantage of our website's features. Firefox 3.5 is available for Windows 2000, XP, and Vista, as well as Mac OS X and recent Linux distributions.
The most recent version of Firefox, 3.5, offers enhancements over previous versions including improved speed and cleaner page rendering (smoother rounded borders and resampled stretched images). However, its latest version does not work with Windows 98 and ME. Due to its improved features over Internet Explorer 6, we recommend installing Firefox on Windows 2000 and in situations where Internet Explorer 7 and 8 are not available. Firefox 3.5 can be downloaded from Mozilla.
Safari was originally available for Mac OS X, with recently added support for Windows XP and Vista; it is presently availabel at version 4. Released by Apple, Safari is a lighter alternative to Firefox, though its support is limited to recent operating systems. Our website's features take advantage of Safari's capabilites, including rounded borders.
Apple's Safari is intended to be easier to use than other alternatives, built on the same design philosophies as Mac OS X. Version 3 and up requires OS X Tiger or later, Windows XP, or Windows Vista, and has the same requirements as the more recent Safari 4; users are strongly recommended to upgrade to Safari version 4, which can be downloaded for all users from Apple.
Google Chrome is the popular search engine's foray into the web browser market, and is built on simplicity, stability, and performance to better accomodate modern web applications and their rich feature sets. As it is based on the code for Safari, Google Chrome takes advantage of any code written for Apple's web browser by behaving in the same manner. The first browser to isolate every open tab and window to prevent crashes from closing them all, Google Chrome can be more stable than most of its competitors, while also being fast.
At present, Google Chomre is only available for Windows XP and Vista, with Mac and Linux versions coming soon. It can be downloaded from Google here.
Opera is a lightweight browser designed to support multiple platforms, including most computers, mobile phones, personal digital assistants, and video game consoles. Unlike other browsers, Opera is available for all version of Windows from 98 onward, in addition to Linux and Mac OS X. Opera features a small footprint, and is designed to run well on older systems.
While initially a shareware program, then advertising supported, the Opera web browser is now available free of charge and advertisement free, and is supported by Silvert's as of version 9. You can download Opera 11 (the latest version) here.
Only residents of Canada are required to add taxes. US residents do not pay taxes on products they order.
Silvert's accepts VISA, MasterCard or PayPal on all orders, and also cheque or money order for phone, fax or mail orders. If you are paying by cheque, please note your order will be shipped as soon as your cheque clears.

- Do I need to set up an account to shop at Silvert's?
No, Silvert's does not require anyone to set up an account for online shopping. While our accounts offer benefits like making purchases easier and tracking orders, non-members are free to browse, choose, and buy products from our website. We value your privacy.
- I want an account. Where do I sign up?
You have two choices when signing up for an account. Click here to create your account right now, or wait until after you have picked out your first items: as part of the checkout process, we offer the ability to create your account during step 2.
- I didn't receive a confirmation email! How do I get my account activated?
Activation emails occassionally take time to be delivered, please be patient. However, if you have waited more than an hour with no e-mail, it's likely your provider has discarded the message as spam. Feel free to send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can activate your account for you.
- I lost my password. How do I get a new one?
Click here to use our lost password form. Enter the email address you used to sign up with us, and a new password will be sent to your account.
If you do not receive an email within a reasonable time frame, send us an email at email@example.com or contact us at 1-800-387-7088, and we can give you a new password directly. Note that we recommend changing your password on successful login to something you will easily remember.
- What is reCAPTCHA?
- ReCAPTCHA is an anti-spam service. We use it to protect you and your friends from unwanted emails.
- How do I fill these out?
Here is a sample reCAPTCHA: Simply type in the two words displayed in the top half. Automated spam systems are thwarted by the distorted text.
- I can't read it!
Some reCAPTCHA challenges are extremely difficult to read, even for us. If you have difficulty reading the words we provide, click on to the right of the response box, and you will get a new challenge. If you still have trouble, you can click on to attempt an audio-based challenge instead.
- Why to you use reCAPTCHA?
We use the reCAPTCHA service to protect you and your friends from spam. Unfortunately, before we added them to some of our forms, malicious users were using them to send automated and unsolicited emails to various email addresses. This resulted in password resets and account activation emails getting blocked for many of our customers.

- When I go to add an item to my cart, your website complains about cookies. What are those and how do I fix it?
"Cookies" are small files we store on your computer to identify you individually, and thus display your shopping cart instead of someone else's when you go to add an item. As such, your computer must accept the cookies we provide for our website to work. See here for more information…
- How can I be sure that shopping online is safe?
Silverts.com protects you from eavesdropping with high grade 256-bit encryption throughout ther checkout process, to ensure that nobody else will discover your address or credit card information. Once you make your purchase, the data is encrypted until the order is complete, and then deleted from our public systems. We take pride in our security, and proactively protect your information from hacking by searching for and patching up potential security holes in our service.

Yes, we can also accept orders by phone or mail. When you've picked out what products you want, write down the item numbers, sizes, colours, and quantities, then call us at 1-800-387-7088 to place your order.

- I didn't get a confirmation email for my order! Can I get a new one?
Yes, if you do not receive an email within a reasonable time frame, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. We retain copies of confirmation emails to help you with this problem, and can send them from or to a different address if necessary. Occassionally, mail from our website gets treated as spam by popular email providers; if our confirmation was deleted, this is the only way we can circumvent such a block.
- Where do I go to shop on your website? I already know what I want.
If you found our products in Silvert's FREE print catalog, look for and record the catalog number included beside the price — this 4 or 5 digit number helps us identify every item we sell.
Enter your item number in the search box at the top of the left menu, or in the search field here. Once we find your item, provide the necessary details and add it to your cart. Repeat with any remaining items, and check out.
Silvert's Email Specials
- What are your email specials and how often do you send them out?
Our email specials are your opportunity to find out what products are on sale at Silvert's. Throughout the year, we provide subscribers with inside knowledge of special deals for any occasion, a perfect opportunity to shop for the one you love. Our specials are typically sent out every other Thursday, except during the holiday season when we will send them to you weekly.
- How do I sign up?
Simply submit your email address here. When you get your confirmation email, follow the link in the message body to complete your registration.
- I signed up for your mailing list, but have not been receiving any emails recently.
If you have a junk mail or spam folder, look inside to see if our emails have been filtered. If you find the specials, make sure to add "firstname.lastname@example.org" to your address book.
Some mail providers have started the practise of silently blocking email from various sources, and will occassionally include us on that blacklist; unfortunately, we are unable to rectify this problem. If this affects you, we apologize for the inconvenience.
- When did I sign up for these messages?
When you make a purchase from Silvert's, we add your email address to our mailing list. During the checkout process, however, we offer all customers the ability to opt out prior to completing their purchase — remember to clear the checkbox on step 3 if you don't want to hear about our specials and sales.
- How do I unsubscribe from your mailing list?
If you already have an online account with us, you can unsubscribe by signing in and clearing the check box on your Preferences page (accessible from the links at the top of the page).
